The painting and easel are slightly dusty. The painting is in very good condition. The upper part of the easel present traces of use. The work is in very good condition.

Originally conceived to be a serie in which each version would be painted darker, Pettibone decided to stop painting them as it was too much energy consuming for his sight. Each of the three versions is different and therefore unique (See : Cat. Exh., London, Tang Museum, Richard Pettibone: A Retrospective, November 19, 2005 – February 12, 2006). The other two versions are both in important NY state collections of Dadaism.

Conçu à l'origine pour être une série dans laquelle chaque version serait peinte en plus foncé, Pettibone a décidé d'arrêter de les peindre car cela lui demandait trop d'énergie pour sa vue. Chacune des trois versions est différente et donc unique (voir : Cat. Exp., Londres, Tang Museum, Richard Pettibone: A Retrospective, 19 Novembre 2005 – 12 Février 2006). Les deux autres versions font partie d'importantes collections de l'État de New York sur le dadaïsme.
