In overall good restored condition.
The ebony veneers in rather good condition, with a minor age crack along the left handside of the central niche. There is a loss of veneer to the top edge of a column at the right handside of the niche, there is one loss of moulding to the bottom left of the top right drawer, another small loss to the bottom right corner of the bottom left drawer. There is a loss of veneer to the top left corner of the niche. The reverse of the niche door with a minor age craquelure running vertically. Otherwise with minor age craquelure in places, minor scuffs to corners and edges, scratches all consistent with age and use. Some scratches and wear to the bottom where the bottom drawers slide open.
Each column with a sign of a break to the shaft, all now restored. Otherwise the hardstone panels in good condition, with only very minor scratches, scuffs, and craquelure all consistent with age and use. The panel below the niche with a simulated marble back.
The brass mounts in good condition, with minor scratches, rubbing and tarnishing as to be expected. There are refilled holes to either side of the top of the niche just above the arch, suggesting they were previously mounted - those mounts are now missing. A section of brass missing to corner of a plinth below a column on the left handside of the niche. There is a loss to brass mount to the back right foot.
