A pair of London Delftware polychrome ballooning dishes, circa 1785, Lambeth, probably Thomas Morgan and Abigail Griffith
each saucer dish painted in blue, manganese, yellow and green with hot air balloon above trees and buildings in landscape, within a Louis XVI style border
23cm. wide
The present dishes probably depict one of the flights of Vincenzo Lunardi who notably made several ascents around London in 1784 and 1785.
