A FINE AUTOGRAPH LETTER FROM NEIL ARMSTRONG, GIVING BUZZ ADVICE ON TURNING HIS 1973 MEMOIR "RETURN FROM EARTH" INTO A MOVIE

NEIL ARMSTRONG'S autograph letter, dated "10 Dec., 1973," reads, in full:

"Dear Buzz,

I have delayed much too long in answering your note, primarily because I was unable to find a suitable reply. But I must give you my opinion.

In all honesty, I believe that a movie of "Return to Earth" would not be good for you. I can't think of any biography of a living person that has ever been made into a good, high-quality flick. That makes pretty long odds.

I know that if you decide to go ahead, you can do so, with or without my concurrence. I do hope, however, that you will think it over carefully before you decide.

All is well here on the farm. We have ice on the pond and I suspect the Armstrong hockey league will begin in earnest this week.
