fusain sur papier
59,5 x 36,6 cm; 233/8 x 143/8 in.
Exécuté le 28 février 1863.
Executed on very thin laid paper, laid down on cardboard. There is a small paper loss in the upper right corner. There are a few creases throughout the composition probably consistent with the laying down process. There is a horizontal crease running to the middle of the composition (as visible in the catalogue illustration). There is a small tear towards the lower left edge (approx. 1,5 cm). There are some faint stains in places, notably at the back of the head, possibly original. There are some small rub-marks in areas and most predominantly behind the sitter. This work is in overall good condition.
