A Nimai-do gusoku [armour]
Edo period, 17th - 18th century
the black lacquer kabuto with raised ridges with gold lacquer, copper tehen kanamono of three tiers, linen lined mabisashi [peak], copper-gilt fukurin, the fukigaeshi [turnbacks] applied with engraved copper mon on printed linen, five tier shikoro [neck guard] with spaced lacing in blue braid, the underside in black lacquer, russet lacquer style mempo, the gold lacquer on black lacquered-wood do [cuirass] hinged in two pieces, six tier sode [shoulder guards] of gold lacquer on iron with blue lacing, chainmail kote [sleeves], seven tassets of five-tiered kusazuri [skirt]
