Signed Kii no kuni Yasumitsu

Edo period, 17th century 


Sugata [configuration]: Shinogi-zukuri, shallow tori-zori, with ko-kissaki

Kitae [forging pattern]: Small ko-itame hada, with some ji-nie and togari-ba

Hamon [tempering pattern]: Midare all in ko-nieyakidashi, a short kaeri

Boshi [tip]: Ko-maru 

Nakago [tang]: Osujikai yasuirme, with two mekugi-ana, signed Kii no kuni Yasumitsu (Yasumitsu from Kii Province)

Habaki [collar]: Silver 

Koshirae [mount]: The black lacquer saya inlaid in aogai, the fuchi-kashira in shakudo gilt and copper on a nanako ground, the fuchi with raised a naganaki, the kashira of a kabuto, the tsuka with black ito, the mokko-gata tsuba decorated with shakudo fukurin on nanako, mumei  

Nagasa [length from kissaki to machi]: 72 cm., 28⅛ in. 

Saki-haba [width at the yokote]: 2 cm., ¾ in. 

Moto-haba [width at the machi]: 3 cm., 1⅛ in. 

The koshirae: 98 cm., 38½ in.
