Kitae [forging pattern]: Itame-hada, fine ji-nie, almost utsuri, with areas of tobiyaki extending to the ji
Hamon [tempering pattern]: Gunome-midare becoming suguha in places, yakidashi
Boshi [tip]: Almost ichi-mai boshi, almost nie-kuzure
Nakago [tang]: Ubu, one mekugi-ana, katte sagaru yasurime, signed Chikugo no kami Fujiwara Kanenori, the ura inscribed Echizen ju (a resident of Echizen)
Habaki [collar]: Gold, single clad
In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard] with sayagaki
Nagasa [length from kissaki to machi]: 82.7 cm., 32⅝ in.
