NIKE, NIKE AIR TEAM MAX, SIZE 18.5
Leather, Rubber, Cotton
2000
These dual signed sneakers were worn by Alonzo Mourning in 2000 while playing for the Miami Heat, the same year that he would join Team USA at the Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia and win Gold. Mourning achieved 6 blocked shots during the Olympic games, a number formerly achieved only by legend Patrick Ewing in 1984.
The Hall of Famer ended his 15 season career as a 2 time NBA All-Defensive First Team performer with 2356 blocked shots (11th in NBA history). He also ranks among Miami’s all-time leaders in points scored, free-throws made, total rebounds, among many other accolades.
This game worn Nike Air Team Max features black uppers signed with Mourning’s name and ‘#33’ on the left lateral side, and with ‘To Dave God Bless’ inscribed on the right lateral side. The unique design features a large wraparound visible air bubble, black uppers and red and white accents with coordinating Swooshes. Each heel is embroidered with Mourning’s jersey number ‘33’. The shoes have Alpha Project logos on the center medial sides, indicating that they are part of Nike’s line of athletic shoes made specifically to address professional athletes’ performance concerns with the newest available technology.
The shoes are accompanied by a Letter of Opinion from MEARS Authentication, LLC, with an “Authentic” Final Grade, as well as a letter from Beckett in regards to the signatures. The shoes are accompanied by a Letter of Provenance.
