These coasters follow the design of those made for Pauline Borghese by J.B.C. Odiot, with later examples by Scheggi of Florence. Rosenberg lists a set of twenty-eight in silver-gilt by Weisshaupt, Der Goldschmiede Merkzeichen. R 3, 1923, p. 352. He also lists other works copied from Odiot and Biennais.
