A pair of partially gilt and niello silver cups, apparently unmarked, probably France, circa 1850

in the style of the 17th century, resting on a six-lobed pedestal with niello and gilt foliage decoration, the silver-gilt stem knot decorated with three demonic masks, the bowl chased with six ribs decorated on the outside with cartouches with demonic mask decoration in a foliage environment, the inside of the bowl in silver-gilt centered with a putto in a round medallion within a starry motif decorated with niello foliage scrolls on matted ground, in an earlier gilt wood tan morocco case

dans le style du XVIIe siècle, reposant sur un piédouche à six lobes à décor niellé et doré de feuillages, le noeud du fût en vermeil orné de trois masques démoniques, la coupe ciselée de six côtes ornée à l'extérieur de cartouches à décor de masque démoniaque dans un environnement de rinceaux, l'intérieur de la coupe en vermeil centrée d'un putto dans un médaillon rond à l'intérieur d'un motif étoilé orné de rinceaux feuillagés niellés sur fond amati, dans un écrin antérieur en maroquin fauve doré au petit fer
