'Glen Canyon'

(New York: Daniel Wolf Press, 1980, an edition of 250), a portfolio of 10 dye-transfer prints, each mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, most with the portfolio and copyright stamp on the reverse, each in individual wrappers with letterpress title and date, 1961-71, printed in 1980; together with the printed title, plate list, and colophon, signed and editioned '220' in ink. Folio, taupe linen clamshell box with gilt-lettered leather label

images: each approximately 16 by 12 ½ in. (40.6 by 31.8 cm.) or the reverse

portfolio case: 25 ¼ by 21 in. (64.1 by 53.3 cm.)

Please note the color and shades in the online catalogue illustration may vary depending on screen settings. These dye-transfer prints are in generally excellent condition. The colors remain rich and saturated, with no apparent fading. There is occasional minor soiling on the mounts. The plates, with dimensions and further condition notes, are as follows: 1. 'Coyote Gulch. Escalante River, August 17, 1971' (16 1/8 by 12 3/4 in.) 2. 'Cliff. Moonlight Creek, San Juan River, May 23, 1962' (16 by 12 1/2 in.) - The reverse of the mount does not bear the portfolio and copyright stamps. 3. 'Reflections in pool. Indian Creek, Escalante River, September 22, 1965' (16 by 11 1/2 in.) 4. 'Redbud in bloom. Hidden Passage, Glen Canyon, April 10, 1963' (16 by 12 1/2 in.) 5. 'Green Reflections in Stream. Moqui Creek, Glen Canyon, September 2, 1962' (16 by 12 5/8 in.) 6. 'Amphitheater. Davis Gulch, Escalante Basin, May 12, 1965' (16 by 12 3/4 in.) - When examined in raking light, some hairline scratches and linear impressions are visible, mostly at the edges of the print. 7. 'Escalante River outwash. Glen Canyon, September 2, 1962' (16 by 12 1/4 in.) 8. 'Tamarisk and grass, river's edge. Glen Canyon, August 1961' (10 7/8 by 16 in.) 9. 'Waterslide from above. Long Canyon, September 21, 1965' (12 1/2 by 16 in.) - There is a small deposit of indeterminate nature in the lower right quadrant, visible only in raking light. 10. 'Dungeon Canyon. Glen Canyon, August 29, 1961' (16 by 12 1/2 in.) The portfolio case, front matter, and printed wrappers are in generally excellent condition. The ink from the portfolio number on the colophon has bled slightly through the paper and is somewhat visible on the plate list.
