This photograph of Joan Crawford was taken on the set of They all Kiss the Bride (1942).

This American comedy was directed by Alexander Hall. The cast includes Joan Crawford and Melvyn Douglas. Crawford took over the role from Carole Lombard after she died in a plane crash, and donated her entire salary from the film to the Red Cross in memory of Lombard. Margaret Drew (Joan Crawford) is a tough, single-minded career-driven woman who runs a trucking company. Michael Holmes (Melvyn Douglas) is writing a book on how the company mistreats its employees, which annoys Margaret, and gives Michael a pang of pleasure! How will their cat-and-mouse game pan out? It's certainly a picture to keep 'em laughing and loving!

From the personal collection of A.L 'Whity' Schafer (photographer), and The Wayne Penn Schafer Estate, son of A.L 'Whitey' Schafer, by descent.
