Chancery folio (264 x 190mm.), 263 leaves (of 274), a6 b8 c-h8.6 i-k8 l-z A-I6.8 K6 L-Q6.8, with duplicates of leaves P3_4, double column, 49 lines plus headline, gothic type, initials in red and silver, early annotations, later calf, two clasps, modern drop-backed box, lacking a1, a5, a6 and quire Q (all supplied in facsimile from the British Museum copy), O4 and P4 trimmed in margins, cut close at head, a2 and P6 slighty soiled, joints repaired, lacking both straps


PROVENANCE

Edward H. Nevinson, signature on flyleaf; Thomas Musgrave (1788-1860), Trinity College Cambridge, inscription dated 1814 and armorial bookplate (as bishop of Hereford)
