The canvas is original. The work appears in good overall condition. Possible repaired horizontal damage to the canvas at the centre of the left edge. Stretcher bar marks are visible in places, with a few instances of associated craquelure, only visible upon close inspection. Instances of craquelure towards the corners and in the upper right quadrant with some instances elsewhere with restoration visible in places. Instances of paint loss to the extreme outer edges. Variation to the extreme corners in line with stretching. A layer of varnish and of surface dust. Please contact the department for a reading under ultraviolet light. The work is unframed.
