"The pink and white shower that stands by Murray Building has been witnessing a corner of Hong Kong’s blossom as an international port on Garden Road for a hundred years. Its splashing colours in spring is an annual rendez-vous that never fails to keep. I was touched by its persistence in its botanical innocence through a turbulent century, that footnotes so powerfully a time when the colour of the former colony is said to be fading and withering."
