Acquired directly from the artist in Bangalore, circa 2006
Dimpy Menon graduated in 1986 from the College of Fine Art and Crafts, Chennai, with a major in Sculpting, and lives and works in Bangalore. In 2015, Menon won the prestigious Lorenzo il Magnifico Bronze award in the Florence Biennale, the first Indian sculptor to win this accolade. Her work has been exhibited around the world and has been commissioned by major institutions such as the World Trade Center, Pune. This sculpture forms part of her 'Mood Pieces' which explore the human figure in contemplation and the body’s tactile relationship to objects around them.
