The Feast

Pen and black ink and brown wash, over traces of black chalk;

tab of paper, illegibly inscribed, adhered to the verso

500 by 655 mm; 19¾ by 25¾ in

Laid down on an old mount. The sheet has very slightly discolored and there are areas of tiny brown stains throughout, with a particularly notable area to the right edge. There is an old repaired tear to the lower center and an old crease that runs vertically up through the center of the table and central seated figure. There is evidence of light surface dirt throughout. The medium itself remains strong throughout this impressive sheet.
