oil on canvas

canvas: 48 ¾ by 38 in.; 123.9 by 96.5 cm.

framed: 58 ½ by 45 ⅝ in.; 148.6 by 115.9 cm.

The canvas is lined and stable on its stretcher. The overall image reads strongly, with some impasto still well preserved in some areas. Other areas are slightly more pressed as a result of the relining process. Some of the scattered restorations have discolored and are faintly visible to the naked eye. There is one restored reapir in the upper left corner, one in the lower left corner, and one diagonal crease in upper right corner. Under UV: a the varnish is milky and fluoresces unevenly in areas. There are some broadly applied retouches in some spots in the background near the edges, as well as some scattered smaller spots here and there. Some spots of retouching are visible in her figure, the most concentrated being in the shadows around her arm. There are some strokes of strengthening in the shadows near the center of the left edge in the tray of fruit. The painting can certainly hang in its present condition. Offered in a carved wood frame that has been painted grey.
