In embroidered linen, enriched with two friezes of vine leaves and grapes beneath bunches and foliage bearing on the border a concealed tightening cotton thread, with two tying cotton laces, with a presentation case.

En linon brodé, enrichi de deux frises de feuilles de vigne et de raisins surmonté de grappes et feuillages portant en bordure, noyé, un fil de coton de serrage. Fond décoré en suite, avec ses deux lacets d’attache, en coton, de part et d’autre. Dans un coffret de présentation.

According to a letter from Clémence Prégnier de Miannée, lady in waiting of Marie Louise Duchess of Parma, the Duchess’ belongings were inherited from her parents and gifted to Monsieur Gré, who received the letter.

D’après une lettre de Clémence Prégnier de Miannée, dame de compagnie de Marie Louise Duchesse de Parme, ces souvenirs lui venaient de ses parents, et furent donné à Monsieur Gré, destinataire de la lettre.

Napoléon François Charles Joseph Bonaparte (1811-1832), son of Napoleon I and Marie-Louise de Habsbourg-Lorraine was made King of Rome at his birth, he was also briefly Emperor of the French following his father’s abdication. He was then brought to Austria with his mother where he lived as Prince of Parma and Duke of Reichstadt.
