Very impressive model. It has been untouched since the pair has been acquired at auction from the Bardac collection in 1927. Therefore there is dust overall and it hides the gilding. It will benefit a cleaning to recover the brightness of the gilding. It is the same for the mounts of the base.

It is far better to have them in such condition rather than over cleaned as and it allows to decide the degree of cleaning. There is a minor chip to the edge of the square gilt bronze base. 3 Drip pans are missing.

The mahogany bases with a very pretty timber. Minor marks and scratches on the surface. Both have a later plinth of about 12cm high.
