Description
Château Haut Brion 1961
Pessac-Léognan (Graves), 1er Cru Classé
u.1x4cm, 2x4.5cm, 1x5cm, 3x6cm, bin-soiled labels, 2 wine-stained labels, 1 nicked label, corroded capsules, wines come from different importers
This was the year when some stainless steel vats were introduced at Haut Brion, the first in Bordeaux. In 2014, a devilishly deep, aromatic nose, with notes of gravel and lead pencil. Great cherry and bilberry flavours on the palate. This is a huge, chewy, almost edible wine, doing honour to this incredible vintage. Serena Sutcliffe, MW WA 100
