Nakeba koso

wakere o oshime

tori no ne no

kikoenu sato no

akatsuki kana


When the cock crows

it means we must part,

where, at the crack of dawn,

roosters cannot be heard!

The first edition of this print, as here, has the Ichiryusai seal of Hiroshige below the signature. The second edition has the seal of the publisher Kikakudo instead.
