signed Colin Gill and dated 1935 (upper left)

oil on canvas

unframed: 81 by 68.5cm.; 32 by 27in.

framed: 96.5 by 82.5cm.; 38 by 32½in.

Executed in 1935.

Original canvas. The work appears in very good overall condition. There are some occasional, minor, abrasions along the upper edge, and near the center of the right edge. There is a small pin-size hole and associated spot of paint loss in the sky below the man's right elbow, and another possible minor loss in the dress of the girl.

Under ultraviolet light there appear to be no signs of retouching.

Held in a dark stained wood frame.
