8,000 - 12,000 GBP
1885 - 1956
signed Marie Laurencin and dated 49 (upper right) and stamped with the monogram (lower right)
oil on panel
21.6 by 26.9cm., 8½ by 10½in.
Framed: 38.6 by 43.2cm., 15¼ by 17in.
Painted in 1949.
The panel is stable. Inspection under UV light reveals a horizontal retouching (approx. 4cm long) towards the upper part of the right edge and a vertical line (approx. 1cm long) to the lower right quadrant. There is slight bowing to the upper right part of the panel. There is some frame abrasion to the extreme edges with some associated tiny paint losses, not visible when framed. There is a small crack to the panel just below the central green bush and one to the right of the houses (each approx. 1cm. long). There is some light surface dirt in places. This work is in overall good condition.
