To commemorate the 50^th anniversary of the Submariner in 2003, Rolex launched the “Kermit” in Baselworld. Back in the time fresh to the market, it was fascinating to see Rolex’s signature color in the aluminum bezel in contrast to the black dial. In 2010, Rolex introduced a new Cerachrom bezel for the Submariner line which the color will stay perfectly intact. However, the “Kermit” will still be a long time favorite by collectors as the aluminum bezel will age and colors will fade in its unique way.
