Audemars Piguet released its first perpetual calendar Royal Oak in 1983, 11 years after the original 'Jumbo' in 1972. The reference 25829 is faithful to the original model with a similar 39 mm diameter. The model was revealed in the second part of the 1990's in different metals such as stainless steel, pink or yellow gold, platinum and tantalum combined with another precious metal. This particular lot has a stainless steel case and bracelet as indicated by the 'ST' at the end of the reference. The watch is powered by the automatic calibre 2120 which is composed of 343 parts. Both the sapphire display back and the skeletonized dial enable the viewer to clearly see the spectacular movement from the front and back, revealing the finest micro-engineering and the beautifully chased rotor within.

Thanks to Gerald Genta's design with the versatile choice of the perpetual calendar complication and the skeletonized dial, this timepiece has become a sought after reference for avid collectors of quality watches with a timeless sport chic elegance.
