The perpetual calendar is a complication that has very long ties with Audemars Piguet. Since the 1910s, Audemars Piguet hase been producing stylized unique perpetual calendar pocket watches that were highly differentiated from those that were made from other leading Swiss brands. As the popularity of complicated wristwatches has increased, in 1955 Audemars Piguet produced the world’s first perpetual calendar wristwatch that would feature a leap year indication. Later on, the perpetual calendar also found its place within the iconic Royal Oak collection.

The present watch is a rather unusual iteration of a complicated Royal Oak. Equipped with a stainless steel case and bracelet, it features a smooth platinum bezel which gives that watch a slightly different appearance and feel than other Royal Oak models with metal-brushed bezels. It is further offered in attractive condition having been enjoyed by its previous owner.

It is offered in attractive condition with a digital Extract from the Archives.
