Significantly increased in popularity over the past few years, vintage tool watches have become more and more sought after as knowledge on vintage watches has become more accessible either from books or the internet. Designed by Gerald Genta, the Patek Philippe reference 3700 Nautilus was launched in 1976 with production lasting until 1998 with various materials and combinations available in the market, however it is the stainless steel variant that is the most desirable among collectors as it’s production ended earlier than the rest at approximately 1986 to 1987 thus making them rarer and harder to come by today.

Nicknamed the “Jumbo” for its larger than average case size at the time, this particular example of the 3700 has experienced some amount of degradation to the dial revealing the brass plate beneath which can be an attractive aspect for collectors as it is a natural sign of aging known as tropical.

With original hands, dial and bracelet all being retained in very nice and original condition, the present Jumbo Nautilus retailed by Beyer showcases the strong and long-standing partnership between the two companies.
