Gallet introduced the MultiChron Regulateur chronograph in 1929. Made with professional timekeeping in mind, the watch was popularly used by pilots, doctors, technicians, and sports professionals, and was the first official wrist-worn chronograph of the Indianapolis 500 races.

Made in partnership with official race sponsor, Champion Spark Plugs, the present lot was given to race winners at the Indy 500 during the early 1930s.

Gallet had exclusive rights to this monopusher caliber 140 movement, and supplied regulator watches to other brands including Rolex, Girard Perregaux, Harvard (Goerring), and more.
