The Patek Philippe reference 5050 was the brands first retrograde perpetual calendar made in series, and the first perpetual calendar since the legendary 2497 and 2438 to feature center sweep seconds. . Launched in yellow gold in 1993, it remained in production until 2002 whilst also being offered in pink and white gold, as well as in platinum. The dials featured either applied baton markers or Roman numerals, and a moon-phase aperture at 6 o’clock, with later examples featuring the Automatic text below the moon-phase. It is thoughts that only 150 examples of the 5050 in pink were made, with only 25 returning to the market.
