The Patek Philippe reference 2457 was released to replace the iconic reference 96 SC in 1949 and remained in production until 1958. The reference retained the same case shape and proportions as its predecessor and was made in stainless steel, platinum, pink and white gold as well as yellow gold such as the current watch. The caliber was a 27 SC with center seconds housed in a Gerlach-made case and silvered Stern Freres dial. To date, circa 55 examples in yellow gold have been known to the market.
