Property from the Estate of a Private Collector, New York
engraved L.C.T. o7473 with firm's paper label
18 3/4 in. (47.6 cm) high
Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand, the vase successfully emulates the richness and complexity of a peacock plume, with a beautiful, variegated color palette and luminous iridescence. The glass with scattered air bubbles, particulate inclusions and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually distracting. The glass surfaces with scattered and very faint surface scratches consistent with age and gentle handling. The foot of the vase displays a very elegant lobed composition. On the foot there are a few occasional small horizontal surface irregularities which are likely toolmarks from production, only visible upon close inspection and not visually distracting. The interior of the vase presents with very light surface soiling. The underside is applied with several small felt pads and paper labels from a previous owner. An extremely elegant and complex design with rich decoration.
