Overall in very good condition. The sofa has been sensitively reupholstered at some point in the history of the piece in a green velvet fabric and white skai leather. The green velvet presents with light surface soiling, minor wear, rubbing and areas of discoloration consistent with gentle use. The white skai leather presents with scattered surface scratches, light surface soiling and minor areas of wear particularly concentrated to the arms as consistent with gentle use and not visually distracting. The backside of the sofa presents with a few scattered stains to the leather, not visually distracting and which may be professionally cleaned at the buyer’s discretion. The brass legs present with light surface soiling and tarnish consistent with age and gentle use. This lot is offered together with a certificate of expertise from the Gio Ponti Archives. A sculptural sofa with strong geometric lines.
