"Banded Dogwood" Table Lamp

circa 1905

with a rare "Openwork Arch" base

leaded glass, patinated bronze

shade with small early tag impressed TIFFANY STUDIOS/NEW YORK

30 1/4 in. (76.8 cm) high

20 1/2 in. (52.1 cm) diameter of shade

Overall in very good condition. When viewed firsthand the shade displays a bright green hue in the geometric registers which offsets the creamy white dogwood blossoms. The floral register is enhanced by confetti background glass in predominantly pink and brown tones. The shade with approximately 8 hairlines dispersed throughout, stable. The rare “Openwork Arch” base is in overall very good condition and displays a rich green-brown patina when viewed firsthand. The bronze with scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions throughout, and with some occasional areas of wear and discoloration to the patina consistent with age and use. The base with some traces of light surface soiling concentrated to the recessed contours of the design. With period sockets. With a period finial in very good condition with some light wear and minor losses to the patina at the top of the knop. An extremely elegant and complementary pairing of shade and base.
