Here is a dining room that recalls the finest of French interior design. In a marvellous orchestration, the works of four major 20th century artists have been brought together: Claude Lalanne, César, Garouste and Bonetti.

What these artists have in common is that they have liberated furniture from strict functional constraints and given life to the material itself. Claude Lalanne poetically celebrates the life of plants with a large mirror and a chandelier, Structure Végétale, commissioned in 1997. Élisabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti give us a more primitive expression with the Athena chairs and armchairs. As for César, he allows bronze to express itself majestically through his Expansions: a table and above all a console, a unique piece from the former collection of Henri Samuel.

Each piece presented here is a work of art in its own right. Whether they are unique pieces or made in a very small edition, they express the beauty of craftsmanship: bronze, galvanic copper, polished wood. It is exceptional to see these emblematic creations of 20th century decorative arts brought together here in a flamboyant dialogue.
