the elegant baluster body with wide rounded shoulders and short neck, boldly decorated with scholars in a fenced garden setting, above a border of gadroons encircling the slightly waisted base, the shoulders decorated with a large ruyi-heads enclosing lotus blooms below auspicious emblems, alternating with chimes, all in a palette of yellow, turquoise and pale aubergine and reserved on a lustrous dark-blue ground
