A pale green jade 'praying mantis' double box and cover
deftly carved in high relief and openwork, the box in the form of two gourds issuing from a gnarled stalk with furled leaves and curling tendrils, the cover detailed with a praying mantis atop a large leaf, the stone of a pale celadon color, wood stand (3)
Length 6 ½ in., 16.5 cm
Some minor chips and nicks to the extremities, some of which possibly polished. The stone with some minor natural fissures.
