compressed circular, underside with pricked initials and date 1742, baluster body and detachable cover embossed and chased with shells and scrolls on matting, monster headed spout, swing handle with applied bead ornament and rosette cresting, the later stand chased to match, ball feet, Hermanus van Assen, Leeuwarden, 1842, on an ebonized or ebony wood base
