Grateful Dead Fall 1980 Warfield Shows
Note: In August, 1980 Bill Graham placed a full-page advertisement for twelve nearly-consecutive shows at San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre in the San Francisco Chronicle, with the image printed on this shirt, stating: “They’re Not the Best at What They Do, They’re the Only Ones Who Do What They Do.” The advertisement only featured this slogan, the skeletons, and the dates—without even naming the band the show sold out almost immediately. The band would then add three more dates to the originally scheduled performances, totaling the fifteen printed on the back of the shirt.
