Movement:unsigned gilded bar movement, cylinder escapement, plain flat three-arm balance

Dial: white enamel, Roman numerals, moon hands

Case: gold, the back with blue guilloché enamel centrally set with applied diamond-set monogram and coronet, milled band, polished gold cuvette signed and numbered Bourdin, Horloger du Roi, Rue de la Paix, 24, à Paris, no. 6132, insidecuvette additionally numbered 4057, suspended from a matching short gold chain with decorative connecting links heightened with blue enamel, winding key decorated en suite

In his book, Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, Tardy notes that A. E. Bourdin was located at Rue de La Paix c. 1840-1860.
