the rim engraved with arabesques, the scroll handle with interlaced ribbonwork, the thumbpiece a winged male bust, the finial as a warrior with shield on raised disc, the nut enclosed by three straps with leaf-tips edges, the stepped, domed foot flat-chased with strapwork on stippled ground


marked on front rim with maker’s mark MP conjoined in shaped shield and city mark a lion rampant looking left in circle
