Conceived in 1896, this work is a posthumous cast executed by Emile Godard from a foundry wax made during Maillol's lifetime under his control which belonged to the Hessel family.

The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Olivier Lorquin.

Conçu en 1896, cette œuvre est une fonte posthume éditée chez Emile Godard à partie d’une cire de fonderie réalisée du vivant de Maillol sous son contrôle qui appartenait à la famille Hessel.
