La vachère
signé C. Pissarro (en bas à droite)
huile sur panneau
Peint vers 1880.
motif: 15,3 x 24,3 cm; 6 x 9⅝ in; panneau: 16,8 x 25,7 cm; 6⅝ x 10⅛ in
Oil on panel. The panel is significantly warped convexly, with evidence on the verso of a hairline fracture running horizontally from left to right in the upper part. Examination under the UV light reveals a line of retouching running horizontally across the upper part of the composition in the sky, related to the afore-mentioned fracture. There are a few hairline craquelures in places.
