The printing house in the small Moravian town of Stará Říše was set up by Josef Florian (1873-1941) who translated numerous contemporary works of literature into Czech, from Kafka to W.B. Yeats. This version of Metamorphosis was translated by L. Vrána and František Pastor, with illustrations by Otto Coester.
