A bronze and cloisonné enamel 'carp' brush washer

Late Ming-early Qing dynasty, 17th century

oval, decorated to the interior with a large carp leaping above turbulent waves surrounded by ruyi clouds around the cavetto, the exterior with the 'Three Friends of Winter', all reserved on a turquoise-blue ground 


L. 16 cm, 6¼ in.
