An Attic Red-figured Lekythos

circa early 5th century B.C.


decorated with Apollo facing right, standing before an altar, wearing a draped himation, with a cithara in his left hand and a phiale in his right, a band of meander at his feet, a dedicatory inscription in the field reading "Theodoros Kallos," and a band of dotted zig-zag above his head, the shoulder adorned with alternating lotus flowers, palmettes and volutes.

Height 29.6 cm.
