"Williamsburg" Armchair

designed circa 1984

number 28B from an edition of 100

executed by Figini Fondeur

gilt bronze

monogrammed CL, impressed LALANNE, numbered 28B and impressed with the foundry mark

30 x 21 x 22 in. (76.2 x 53.3 x 55.8 cm)

Overall in very good condition. This beautiful armchair model presents with delicate leaf motifs and the inclusion of a bird on the backrest, adding additional whimsy to this poetic form. When viewed in person, the gilt bronze surface presents with a variegated patina and a combination of warm and bright golden hues. The gilt bronze has recently been sensitively cleaned and waxed by a professional restorer with strong expertise in works by Les Lalanne. The gilt bronze presents with minor surface and casting irregularities, particulate inclusions and minute pinholes which are inherent to the making and typical for works by Claude Lalanne. A beautiful armchair in functional condition, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
