Vase

circa 1935

glazed earthenware

signed FRANCE/JB in white enamel

12 ½ in. (31.7 cm) high

12 ¾ in. (32.3 cm) diameter

Overall in very good condition. The glaze presents with surface irregularities inherent to production and light craquelure consistent with age and the natural evolution of the medium. The glaze presents with very minute chips concentrated to the edges of the incised decorations around the vase body and not visible unless closely inspected. The interior of the vase presents with very light surface soiling. The underside with six small protective felt pads. This piece has been inspected under blacklight and shows no apparent evidence of prior restoration.
