Rolex introduced the original GMT-Master reference 6542 in 1954 to help pilots combat jet-lag. Follow its success, the firm introduced reference 1675 in 1960, which remained in production through the 1980s before it was later replaced by reference 16750. Initially available in gold, steel and steel and gold, reference 1675 evolved over its 30 run. The current example can be dated back to 1971 with its 3’015’XXX serial, and is consigned by the original owner. Featuring a sharp case with well preserved dial and hands, the present watch is an excellent addition to any collection of vintage sports watches.
